Every August, Maharashtra’s villages come alive with the sound of drums, decorated bulls, and the spirit of togetherness. This is Bail Pola, a festival close to my heart as a filmmaker and storyteller. Through this vlog on EP Ka Meter Films, I wanted to capture not just the rituals, but the emotions of farmers and families who celebrate this beautiful day.
What Makes Bail Pola Special
Bail Pola is one of Maharashtra’s most loved harvest festivals, where farmers honor their bulls—the true backbone of agriculture. On this day, the animals are bathed, their horns painted, and they’re adorned with flowers and ornaments. Villagers gather for prayers, processions, music, and food, turning it into a celebration of gratitude and unity.
