  • What Support Does a Content Creator Need from Family in the Initial Stage | By Eshwarprasad | EP Ka Meter Films

    Hi friends,

I’m Eshwarprasad, founder of EP Ka Meter Films, and today I want to share something very close to my heart — the real struggles a content creator faces at the initial stage, especially when your family doesn’t understand what you’re doing or why you’re doing it.

My Beginning — From School Stage to Filmmaking Vision

    I still remember…

At the age of 17, I was that kid who always wanted to be on stage. Whether it was a school drama, Tyrion drama, or Marathwada Freedom Day speech about Nizam to Maharashtra culture day, I was there — confident, expressive, and passionate.

My village is in District Latur.

I used to participate in school programs and give speeches like “Til Gul Gya, God God Bola” during cultural festivals. Those moments shaped me, they made me realize how much I loved expressing thoughts through stories and words.

But as I grew older, I began to see the real world beyond those school stages — a world that wasn’t always kind, fair, or encouraging.

The Harsh Reality of Village Life

To be honest, I never had a stable life.

I belong to a small village that still suffers from caste partiality — a kind of mental war that divides people silently.

As a creator, I never wanted that environment around me. I always believed creativity needs freedom, not division. But when your surroundings are filled with negativity, it takes a lot of emotional strength to protect your dreams.

And somewhere between those struggles, I realized another truth —

I never had a true friend in my life. Most were use and throw types — here for their benefit, gone when you needed them the most.

That loneliness became my teacher. It made me self-reliant, strong, and more focused on my art. Because when you have no one to rely on, your passion becomes your only companion.

When Family Doesn’t Understand Your Vision

When you belong to a middle-class Indian family, the biggest challenge isn’t competition outside — it’s convincing your family inside the house.

If your parents are literate, educated, and open-minded, you’ll face fewer problems. They might not fully understand your field, but they’ll at least support you emotionally.

But if your parents aren’t aware of modern content creation — filmmaking, YouTube, editing, podcasting — you’ll face daily struggles.

You’ll have to learn, earn, and then teach them what exactly you’re doing.

    Because the truth is —

“When parents don’t understand something, they reject it. Not because they hate it, but because they fear it.”

The Pain of Rejection at Home

Sometimes, a content creator just needs a small push — a little appreciation, a word of trust, a smile that says, “Yes, you’re doing great.”

But instead, we often get words like:

“Yeh kya kar raha hai poora din phone pe?” “Kuch paisa milta hai kya?” “Job kar le, yeh sab timepass hai.”

Those words hit deep. They make you question your worth.

But trust me, every creator has been through this phase. That’s the moment where you either give up or stand stronger.

    What Families Should Understand

    Dear families,

If your son or daughter is a content creator, filmmaker, or artist — please understand one thing:

Every artist starts alone, confused, and broke — but with faith and support, they create magic.

In the beginning, they might not earn money, but they are building something bigger — a brand, a skill, a voice, a vision.

They are learning how to make an impact — through storytelling, music, or visuals.

So instead of asking “When will you earn?”, ask “How can I support you?”

That one question can change their entire life.

    A Creator’s Responsibility Too

We creators also have a responsibility.

If your family doesn’t understand, don’t fight them — educate them.

    Show them your work.

Show them examples of successful creators.

    Explain your plan.

When they see your passion with purpose, slowly their mindset changes.

And when they finally see your results — your first film, your first YouTube video, your first earning — their eyes will fill with pride. That’s the moment you live for.

    Final Words — From Eshwarprasad

If you’re reading this and going through the same struggles, remember:

    You are not alone.

Stay patient, keep learning, keep creating, and most importantly — never lose respect for your family.

They might not understand you today, but one day they’ll proudly say,

“Mera beta filmmaker hai. Mera beta creator hai.”

    That’s your real victory.

    That’s your moment.
